Goats in the Garden!

The children at Mountain Park Elementary School were treated to a special day dedicated to learning about plants, gardening and life on the farm on Thursday May 3rd. Shannon with Herbal Fusion, Renea Winchester award winning author of In the Garden with Billy: Lessons about Life, Love, and Tomatoes, and Billy Albertson came to plant an organic heirloom garden box with Mrs. Reinoehl's first grade class. Mrs. Reinoehl will be retiring after 36 years of dedicated teaching. She enjoys gardening and this is a way for her class to enjoy it with her! Billy brought several goats for the children to learn about and and spoke with them about farming. Shannon donated organic fertilizer and a lovely calendula plant for the box to attract bees for pollination. Calendula can be used on the skin and the flowers are edible! It was truely a unique and special time for the children today at Mountain Park. Visit: www.got-herbs.com to learn more.
