Atlanta Magazine's Top Schools
On Friday March 2, Sen. John Albers (R- Roswell) visited with six local high schools, recognizing them on being named to Atlanta Magazine’s top schools list for 2012. Atlanta Magazine’s top schools are evaluated by nine different indicators which are compiled by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. These indicators are based on the 2009-2010 school year and are considered proven measures of success when determining college readiness and a school’s effectiveness in preparing students for their future. This was also the first time the magazine ranked the school’s overall performance. North Springs High School, Centennial High School, Chattahoochee High School, Northview High School, Johns Creek High School and Milton High School were each honored with a Senate Resolution in acknowledgement of their continued tradition of academic excellence. Sen. Albers encouraged students to visit his website with their best ideas on how to make Georgia the best state
